2017 Fall for the Homeless Experience
A little over a month ago Devoted Foundation held our second annual Fall for the Homeless Drive. It was amazing. This year we were able to bless 50 individuals, which is more than double last years goal of 21 bags gifted (Click Here To Read More). We are so excited to continue to grow and touch more hearts. The feedback that we received both from our friends and our volunteers was overwhelmingly positive.

“This was my first year participating in Fall for the Homeless. I can honestly say that I enjoyed the entire experience. It felt good to see a worried and wearied face turn into one that was filled with hope and happiness after receiving their bag. The group of volunteers embodied what the Devote[D] Foundation stands for. Everyone was welcoming and team players to accomplish the goals that were set for the day. I'm very impressed with Desiree. She's an inspiration, beautiful soul, and I can really sense that she has a genuine and selfless love for people.”

“On November 18, 2017, I had the amazing opportunity to participate in Devote[D] Foundation’s 2nd Annual Fall for the Homeless event. In many places, the homeless population is one that is often overlooked or simply forgotten about altogether. I believe this is especially true in prominent, populous cities like Dallas. I thoroughly enjoyed handing out blessing bags with the other volunteers and learning more about the individuals receiving the bags. This experience allowed a connection that may not have been made otherwise. Devote[D] is doing an awesome job with helping to clarify the stigma of homelessness. I appreciate this organization and I look forward to participating in the coming year!”

I had the honor and privilege to work with the Devote[D] Foundation for the first Fall For the Homeless event in 2016. I was overjoyed for this year’s event. Each year I’m excited to love on our friends because everyone deserves to feel cherished and valued. What makes FFTH so great is that it allows us to meet individuals, and build connections with the homeless community. It was a positive and humbling experience. I believe that Devote[D] is helping to break our own implicit biases towards the homeless population with every outreach opportunity. To witness the organization grow over the past year has been a true blessing, and is solely because of Desiree’s drive, passion, and vision. Devote[D] is positively impacting the Dallas community. “I had an amazing experience volunteering to help with “Fall for the Homeless”. I felt very blessed to be able to donate my finances. Along with helping to get the bags together and pass them out! It was so humbling to see the faces of those who received the bags filled with goodies. Meeting Desiree and listening to her story was also very touching. I was so glad to have come in contact with such a woman as herself, who has such a big heart. I look forward to partnering with her every chance I can in an effort to give back to the communities. “When Desiree reached out to me about participating in the Fall for the homeless drive, I felt honored. But the more I paid attention the more I realized that she is really passionate about helping the less fortunate. Participating in this drive was humbling. It was also a blessing to be able to help these people in the little way that we could. Obviously, you can't help everyone off the street but this little contribution blessed me.”
